01 Sept 11: New Dates to become an Lu Jong Educator

In December Tulku Lobsang will give another opportunity for experienced Lu Jong Teachers to become official Lu Jong Educators.
Lu Jong Educators must have profound experience in teaching Lu Jong as well as in their own practice and should have a capacity to teach.

If you would like to become a certified Lu Jong Educator, please contact the office and fill out our questionnaire.

The Lu Jong Educator education will be given by Tulku Lobsang in Vienna, at Nangten Menlang International from 05-07 December 2011.

We are very happy to announce the launch of the official, international Lu Jong website! There you will find information about Lu Jong, including its history and benefits, videos and photos. We also present the new education system and introduce the official Educators. The courses they are offering are listed, easily accessible for anyone interested in learning Lu Jong.

Many people have contributed to this website project, and we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for their time and energy. Thank you to Thomas for the beautiful design, Guillaume for the long work of programming the website, Farrah for the beautiful text, Marlene for the clear German translation, Julian and Tracy for their attention to the legal aspects, Yvonne for carefully entering the information of the educators, Kathrin for skillfully coordinating all of the website development, and also to all the many other people that have supported us along the way. And most of all, a heartfelt thank you to dear Tulku-la for sharing this precious practice with us.

We hope that you will enjoy this website and the information that is presented there. We dedicate this website to furthering our goal of sharing Tulku Lobsang's Lu Jong practice with people around the world, so that all may benefit.

15 Oct 2010: Kalachakra Empowerment (13-14 Nov 2010)

Tulku Lobsang is very pleased to offer a Kalachakra empowerment. He has invited Abbot Chokyi Nangwa, an accomplished practitioner of the Kalachakra, to assist in offering the empowerment. This is a wonderful opportunity. If you have the ability to attend, Tulku-la highly recommends his students do so. It is very important during these unstable times for people to give and receive Kalachakra teachings. This is a precious blessing that will awaken in you your desire to develop your Buddha nature, for the good of all beings.

11 Aug 2010: Monk´s Charity Tour on www.livingtibet.org

Nangten Menlang is happy to announce, that from October to December we are inviting monks from the monastery Ganden Shartse Sockpa Khantsen to perform traditional tibetan monk dances, sandmandala, as well as tibetan horoscopes and many more things. We are very looking forward to welcome them in Europe.

12 Aug 2010: New Date for Lu Jong Certification / Renewal

On request of many students, we are happy to announce, that we will hold our 2nd Lu Jong Certification / Renewal weekend from 11.-13. March 2011 in the Netherland.

All students, who have completed there preparation education with an authorized Lu Jong Educator shall attend the certification days from Friday to Sunday in order to gain your certificate.

All Lu Jong Teachers, who have already compleded their Lu Jong education with Tulku Lobsang or with an authorized Lu Jong educator are welcome to join the renewal course on Saturday and Sunday.

We are happy to meet again and to share our experiences other in order to support each other.

27 Mar 2010: New Lu Jong Teacher's Certification Program

New Lu Jong guidlines

During the last couple of years, the practice of Lu Jong has been greatly spreading. Likewise, the number of Lu Jong teachers has been increasing steadily. Due to this growth, a multitude of different ways of organizing courses and teaching new Lu Jong trainers has developed in each country. In order to preserve the authenticity and integrity of the Lu Jong practice while supporting continued growth, a standardized way of organizing and teaching is needed. For these reasons, Tulku Lobsang decided to implement a certification program for all teachers of Lu Jong 1.

Through this certification program, the Lu Jong practice can spread in an effective way for everyone's benefit while also preserving a high quality standard of teaching. In offering a standardized and comprehensive system for developing Lu Jong trainers and teachers, we honour and respect the teaching, Tulku Lobsang, and our own students. The aim of this program is to unify all certified teachers in a way that promotes community and support for each other, and allows for dissemination of the Lu Jong practice in a profound way. This is essential for keeping the lineage of this practice in tact, as well as for enhancing and preserving the quality of Tulku Lobsang's Lu Jong.

Starting this year, all teachers of Tulku Lobsang's Lu Jong will be certified. The certification will be valid for two years, after which time the teacher must participate in the renewal certification process to remain certified. In order to keep your certification valid, it will be necessary to take a one-weekend refresher course every two years. With a valid certification, teachers are authorized and certified by Tulku Lobsang / Nangten Menlang International, to teach Lu Jong. Tulku-la is offering us the unique possiblity to benefit from his profound experience as a Lu Jong teacher. We may refresh our knowledge, continue our studies, deepen our pratice and maintain our connection with Tulku-la, as well as with other teachers from whom we can also learn.

New Certification Program for Lu Jong 1 :

Step 1: Preparation
Content of the 12-day courses (85 hours):
History of Lu Jong, benefits of Lu Jong, basic knowledge of Tibetan Buddhism and Tibetan medicine, Lu Jong 1 practice and modifications, additonal exercises, pedagogics.
The preliminary course will be led by currently certified Lu Jong 1 instructors, who have been chosen and especially trained by Tulku Lobsang for this purpose.

Step 2: Certification
The Lu Jong 1 teachers will receive direct transmission of the Lu Jong teachings from Tulku Lobsang. A written test on the Lu Jong teachings will be given. All who pass the test will receive Tulku-la's certification and blessing.

Step 3: Renewal
Every second year, there will be a meeting of the Lu Jong teachers in order to refresh our knowledge, to learn from each other, to exchange experiences, to continue our development, to deepen our practices and to connect with Tulku-la. To receive a renewed certificate, a written exam must be passed during this course. The renewed certificate is valid for two years.

Further information:
A Lu Jong 1 or 2 "Teacher" is someone who has attended a retreat of Lu Jong 1 or Lu Jong 2 held by Tulku Lobsang. A Lu Jong "Trainer," by contrast, is someone who has not learned directly from Tulku Lobsang, but instead from a Lu Jong Teacher taught by Tulku-la.

All Teachers and Trainers are free to take part in any renewal or certification course offered to obtain the requisite certificate. Please note that Teachers and Trainers who decide not to participate in the certification or renewal program may continue to teach Lu Jong, however, they will not have the official certification of Tulku Lobsang / Nangten Menlang International and will not receive the benefits that certification brings.

Teachers of Lu Jong 1 will have opportunities in both 2010 and 2011 to obtain new certification. The certification process includes a written examination.

Some Lu Jong 1 Teachers have received additional teachings from Tulku Lobsang and have been authorized to train new Lu Jong 1 teachers in the name of Tulku Lobsang. There is a possiblity that in future times Tulku Lobsang is going to train more of these instructors. Everyone who is interested in becoming a Lu Jong instructor is very welcome to contact NMI using the following email: office@lujong.org. At the moment, all other Lu Jong teachers may teach the practice of Lu Jong to students, but are not authorized to train new Lu Jong teachers.

Please be advised that any Lu Jong Trainer who cannot take part in the 2010 certification weekend course, must repeat all 3 certification steps in 2011, including taking the 12-day course, in order to be certified.

Also, we are excited to announce that on July 3-9, 2010 in Switzerland, Tulku Lobsang will be teaching a course on Lu Jong 2 for the first time in Europe. Currently, there are no instructors who are authorized to certify teachers of Lu Jong 2. Thus, every Lu Jong 2 teacher will be certified directly by Tulku-la. This certification will be offered by written examination during the renewal retreats held in 2010 and 2011. Any participants of the Lu Jong 2 retreat who are already certified teachers of Lu Jong 1 can apply for certification in Lu Jong 2 during the renewal retreats.

Before long, the official international Lu Jong website will be launched. The website will inform you about all further details, including a list of all instructors, preliminary courses, and teachers.

Lu Jong 1 Renewal 2010
This course is for existing Lu Jong 1 Teachers, which are those who have been taught at a Lu Jong retreat held by Tulku Lobsang.

Renewal Weekend: 4. - 5. December 2010 in the south of Germany, to obtain a renewed certification. The written exam will be given on the 5th of December at the same time as the exam for the Lu Jong Trainers. (The number of spaces is limited, therefore we recommend that you register as soon as possible.)

Price: 375.- Euro (including accomodation in Double-Room and full pension)
Course-Fee: 250.- Euro
Accommodation: 100.- Euro if arriving on the morning of 4th December; 125.- Euro if arriving on the evening of 3rd December (these prices are a package deal given us by the sport school, therefore they must be paid even if you choose to stay or sleep elsewhere).

This course is for Lu Jong 1 Trainers, which are those who have not been taught directly by Tulku Lobsang:

This year, all Lu Jong 1 Trainers have the unique possiblity to obtain official certification from Tulku Lobsang / Nangten Menlang International. This course takes three days and will be held from the 3rd to the 5th of December 2010. The written exam will be given on the 5th of December, together with the renewal exam for Lu Jong 1+2 Teachers. (The number of spaces is limited, therefore we recommend that you register as soon as possible).

This new certification program will ensure that a profound and effective system exists to guaranty the quality and authenticity of the Lu Jong exercises and to preserve the treasured lineage of this practice.

28 Feb 2010: Lu Jong 2 Retreat in Switzerland

Tulku-la will give - for the first time in 4 years - a teaching on Lu Jong 2. The retreat will be in Switzerland, July 3 - 9th. This is the first time this has been offered in Europe! Lu Jong 2 consists of 15 more movements to open the channels and balance the body for self-healing. It is slightly more rigorous than Lu Jong 1. Knowledge of Lu Jong 1 is a requirement for attendance. More information can be found in the Tourplan.

01 Feb 10: Mindfulness Retreat in Portugal

The first retreat of ven. Tulku-la this year will be held in Portugal. In this retreat Tulku-la will guide us in techniques of transforming our mind. During single-pointed meditation, all thoughts melt into one. As a result, the mind becomes silent and calm.

17 Nov 09: Tulku Lobsang in Retreat

Friends, our dear teacher is now on retreat for three months. This is an important time for Tulku-la to deepen his practice and take time to focus inward. We look forward to his return to his usual, rigorous teaching schedule in February. Until then, we wish him many blessings for a precious retreat connecting to his innate wisdom and filled with realizations!

We are overjoyed at the many beautiful responses we have received for the scholarship question! We are no longer accepting submissions. The deadline changed so that Tulku-la could receive all answers before going on retreat. The winner will be announced on December 23. The next scholarship question will be presented on January 1, 2010. We look forward to your participation!
