To accomplish this, we practice with love, happiness or compassion. Usually we only have a small amount of changeable bliss. Therefore, we need help to increase this amount. During single-pointed meditation, all thoughts melt into one. As a result, the mind becomes silent and calm. Once we are able to do this, we can move on to analytical meditation. An analytical mind can see reality as it is. In this stage, we are able to move away from the delusional mind and we discover that the "I" does not exist independently. Since we are completely interdependent and therefore a participant in every situation, there is no reason to develop negative emotions. When we realize that there is no independent "I," we cut the root from samsara and we cease creating new karma. Single-pointed meditation and analytical meditation are methods for developing mindfulness in the present moment. Most of the mistakes we make are due to a lack of awareness in the present moment. Therefore, by becoming more mindful, we create fewer problems and bring more peace and happiness into our lives.
